Ryan Connor has been left trapped by roommate Lauren Bolton's blackmail in Coronation Street.

Earlier this week, Lauren caught Daisy in a compromising situation in her and Ryan's flat when she found her nearly in a state of undress.

Lauren is always looking for a way to make easy money, so she decided in Wednesday's (October 18) episode that Ryan was ripe for blackmail.

The whole situation started when Lauren quizzed Ryan on his relationship with Daisy, and he tried to dismiss her insinuations by claiming Daisy was just a friend.

Ryan then got some exciting news from Carla that she wanted him to move back into hers, so he went home to announce to Lauren he'd be moving out.

Lauren was panicked over Ryan's decision because she knew she wouldn't be able to pay for the rent on her own.

She resorted to threatening Ryan that she'd reveal that he'd slept with Daisy unless he could get her £1,000.

Ryan rushed to tell Daisy, who promised she'd come up with cash to ensure Daniel never found out what they'd done.

Daisy was desperate enough to research payday loans, only for Daniel to interrupt her before she could take one out. Daisy tried to pretend she was just looking into some retail therapy so Daniel voluntarily handed over some cash.

Daisy secretly snuck off to see Ryan again to give him money, but when he tried to use it to pay Lauren off, she turned the tables on him again.

After Ryan insisted he was moving back into Carla's immediately, Lauren threatened to tell Daniel what he'd done anyway. She made it clear that if Ryan were to move, she'd need more money.

Lauren's desperate financial situation will lead to a new storyline where she considers using the adult entertainment site O-Vidz to come up with much-needed cash.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
