Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has confirmed that Tim Metcalfe is alive following a week-long mystery.
The final moments of Friday's (October 13) shocking exit episode for serial killer Stephen Reid ended with Tim opening his eyes while remaining tied up in his taxi's boot.
Stephen had left Tim to die earlier this week after his rival discovered Stephen had buried a corpse in the canal. The two had a fight that ended with Stephen bashing Tim with a pipe.
The murderer locked Tim in his own car boot and was set to light the taxi on fire, before thinking better of it because a helicopter was flying overhead.

Stephen finally faced justice in the latest episode, as a prolonged hostage situation with Jenny Connor ended with him being mowed down by Peter Barlow's car.
Just before his death, Stephen had been ranting and raving in front of Weathefield residents about his crimes when Elaine and Sally begged him to reveal what happened to Tim.
While Stephen never came clean over attacking Tim, viewers got hints throughout the episode that Tim could still be alive.
After an earlier shot of a man walking his dog near the taxi, Tim was finally shown opening his eyes. However, viewers will have to wait until next week to see if he can actually escape the car boot.
