Coronation Street has aired a major twist in Stephen Reid's escape plan.
Earlier this week, Stephen secretly made plans to flee Weatherfield for Thailand alone when he realised Jenny Connor may finally be onto him.
Before he could leave, Stephen had a few more dirty deeds to see to, including draining the factory's bank accounts to fund his new lifestyle abroad.

Stephen managed to once again manipulate Michael Bailey into unknowingly giving him the bank details he'd need to transfer all of the factory's money into his own account.

He then made his escape, as Carla received a notification that all of the money from the factory accounts was now gone.
At the same time, Sarah Barlow confessed to the Platts that she'd known about Stephen defrauding Audrey and now believed he'd also drugged Carla with LSD.
Before Stephen could make his escape, Peter Barlow showed up to confront him. Stephen tried to defuse the situation by trying to question Peter's mental health, leading Peter to throw him to the ground.
"You really don't want to keep pushing me," Stephen warned.

Audrey happened to walk in just as Stephen was prepared to attack Peter. After Audrey threw Peter out of the flat, she then turned against Stephen too by revealing she knew he'd stolen from her equity.
Stephen tried to make an excuse to leave, forcing Audrey to literally block the door so they could have it out. The next time viewers saw Audrey, she was back at the salon talking to her family about the row.
Meanwhile, DS Swain had discovered Stephen had brought forward his flight to Thailand and dispatched police to meet him at the airport.
Stephen had anticipated the police might be looking for him, so he booked his trip out of Liverpool instead of Manchester. However, Stephen discovered when he got to the airport that his passport was gone.
Realising that someone must have swiped the passport, he angrily headed back to Weatherfield. In a chilling final scene, a menacing Stephen stood watching Jenny from afar.
