Corrie insiders are keeping tight-lipped about whether Paul has been drinking, or whether his driving struggles are connected to his recent health problems.

Paul has been struggling with a hand injury after being hurt in a recent accident on the cobbles.

A recent episode saw Paul check out a motorbike that Peter Barlow had acquired through a trading and bartering challenge.

When Paul sat on the vehicle, Carla Barlow got inside the Underworld van and accidentally drove in his direction, causing a nasty collision.

Paul has since been receiving legal advice over a potential lawsuit, needing compensation from Carla as his injuries have left him unable to work.

Todd Boyce, who plays Stephen, recently spoke about his character's long-term plans to take down Carla.

He said: "This is not a premeditated plan to kill someone, this is to get her out of the way of the business.
