Coronation Street's Roy to make surprising purchase after river fall

Roy Cropper will make a surprise purchase in Coronation Street following the river fall storyline early next year.

Soap bosses have already confirmed a gripping 2023 plot where Roy's niece Nina Lucas slips and hits her head on a rock while searching for Roy in the forest.

Nina will be trying to tell Roy that the bat group meeting he'd been planning to attend was cancelled, but because he doesn't carry a phone, they have to track him by foot.

The story picks up in the New Year with Roy and Nina finally leaving hospital, keen to put the river accident behind them for good.
