Coronation Street has hinted at a dark new 2023 storyline for Jacob Hay.
Jacob has had a new beginning in Weatherfield ever since he broke away from his toxic relationship with father Damon. There have been troubling signs ever since Damon reappeared.
While Damon has insisted he genuinely wants to make amends with his son, he has also asserted himself at the Bistro following a secret deal Nick had to make with Harvey for funding.

In the New Year, Nick feels pressure from Damon to offer Jacob a part-time job at the Bistro, only for Damon to up the offer to full-time and double the money his son is making at the factory.

Coronation Street newcomer Ciarán Griffiths has recently confirmed that there are ulterior motives for Damon reappearing in his son's life.
"He makes out that he's back to make amends with Jacob and he slowly starts to build up his trust, but I think that will be to let him back down again," the actor said.
"He's just using Jacob for his own benefit, which you get the impression he's done for a lot of his life."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
