Coronation Street has unveiled a first look at Jacob Hay's dad Damon as he makes his debut on the cobbles.
In new scenes airing on the soap, Jacob and Simon – who has recently landed a job with the Underworld sales team – manage to thwart a thief trying to steal the van.
In the aftermath of the scenes, Jacob celebrates after his and Simon's heroic actions, though his day takes a new turn when he is hailed in the street by a man he knows called Damon.

He tells Jacob that he is passing through and stopped to say a quick hello, though Jacob is unimpressed and sends him on his way.

Damon is of course Jacob's dad – and we'll be seeing much more of him.
Shameless star Ciaran Griffiths was recently cast as Damon, with the character set to bring dark secrets that may threaten Jacob's new attempt to straighten out his life.

"I'm happy to be back in Manchester to see my family and friends after being away in Australia for the last three years. The city has changed so much," Griffiths previously said.
"And what better way to tie it in with a stint on the Cobbles. I watched Corrie as a kid and it's great to be back with some old friends both cast and crew.
"I'm loving having the opportunity to work with some quality Northern actors whose work I have long admired, particularly on such a complex character like Damon."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
