Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Fiz Stape is left distraught tonight (November 7) as her partner Tyrone Dobbs makes the John book situation even worse.

Fiz and her family have been rocked by the news that a book is being published about her late husband John, who was a serial killer.

Fiz is particularly concerned that the true crime release contains references to her young daughter Hope, which could potentially lead to her being bullied at school.

In Monday's episode, Fiz and her solicitor Adam Barlow meet up with the book's publisher.

Fiz makes an emotional plea with the publisher, urging her to remove all references to Hope from the product.

As Fiz points out how badly this could affect Hope in the future, she believes that she could be making progress with arguing her case.

Later, however, things go wrong as Tyrone discovers that a public Q&A session is being held at a local hotel to promote the book.

Tyrone heads down there and is horrified to hear the author suggesting that Fiz was involved with her late husband's crimes.

Seeing red, Tyrone slaps the journalist across the face – with members of the audience filming the whole thing.

Fiz is horrified when the footage goes viral and the publisher decides to bring forward the release of the book, making the most of the publicity. It seems that any possibility of negotiation over the product's contents has been erased thanks to Tyrone's rash actions.

Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, recently explained: "Fiz has no idea why Tyrone has done this. She feels like it has made the situation ten times worse.

"Fiz and Tyrone were trying to work out a way through this and Fiz even says, 'I wanted to punch the journalist but I didn't because it would have made things worse and now you have!' Fiz feels like things have gone from bad to worse."

Asked whether this could threaten Fiz and Tyrone's new settled family life, Jennie replied: "Yes, it seems like it, doesn't it? It's every time Fiz and Tyrone's complicated past gets brought up again. And John Stape is not only Fiz's past, he is Hope's dad, so he is in their lives in this weird way and always has to be.

"Every time John Stape is mentioned it doesn't end well for Fiz and Tyrone."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
