It has been revealed that Coronation Street will write Simon Gregson’s real life injury into the soap.

The Steve McDonald actor recently revealed that he'd broken his leg in six different places, and the aftermath of his painful injury will soon be seen on screen. “I've broken my leg. I literally just went over and rolled my ankle, outside the back of the house. It was done in six places,” he explained his situation (via Mirror).

"I'm able to drive now, but walking across wet fields is a no for me. Because if I slip it's back to square one,” he added.

When asked if his character would soon be sporting a cast, he responded: “Yeah, they've written it in. They just kind of spoke about it. It's like when Bobby Ewing woke up in the shower [in Dallas]. No one cares after about five minutes."

“I've been trying to get the scenes filmed that they needed filming at work before I came out here. So my priority has been getting my proper work done before I headed out," she told Mirror.

"I think they were quite surprised when they heard that I was going to do it. But yeah, I know. I've got their support behind me, which is a lovely thing. So yeah, I'm just raring to go now," Cleaver added.
