Coronation Street to revisit Alya Nazir, Ryan Connor split story

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will be revisiting Alya Nazir and Ryan Connor's split story next week – but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are getting back together.

The pair were a couple for a good while, with Ryan supporting Alya during Geoff Metcalfe's reign of terror, but they broke up due to Daisy Midgeley's interference. He's recently been through the ringer after getting involved in Debbie Webster's botched insurance scam.

In the upcoming scenes, Alya is out on a lunch date and Ryan watches on wistfully. Ronnie Bailey tells him that he should tell her how he feels.

Ryan eventually does that and opens up to Alya about how he hugely regrets being drawn into the scam. The whole thing backfired massively and left him taking all the blame, being ostracized by the Cobbles residents in the process.

What to Read Next

Ryan also takes the opportunity to tell Alya that he wishes they could get back together. How Alya will react to his confession though is anyone's guess.

Speaking about whether they could ever reunite in the immediate aftermath of their breakup last year, Alya actress Sair Khan admitted there was a chance. She explained that while her character may not act like it on the outside, "deep down she loves him and she wants him back".

"On the face of it they're not well suited at all," she said of them as a couple back in September 2021. "He's a bit of a joker, sort of a lost puppy but I think that complements Alya really well. She can be a bit highly strung, maybe a bit stuck up at times. He really brings out the softer, more playful side to her.

"She's had to be so tough for so long she’s struggled to see the lighter side of life, so I think they are a good pairing."
