Former Corrie star Richard Fleeshman announces his engagement

Former Coronation Street star Richard Fleeshman has announced his engagement to girlfriend Celinde Schoenmaker.

The actor shared the happy news via his Instagram, where he has been sharing updates on his South African safari trip with his now fiancée.

"Went to Africa with my girl. I'll be heading home with a Fiancée. Couldn't be happier," he wrote under a silhouette image of the couple against the sunset.

The pair were congratulated by several friends. "Yay!!!!! congratulations you beautiful humans," commented reality star Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Catherine Tyldesley wrote: "Oh guys! Huuuuuge congratulations!!!!!"

Fleeshman, the son of fellow Coronation Street actor Sue Jenkins, is well known for playing Craig Harris on the cobbles between 2002 and 2006.

Craig Harris was most notably the boyfriend of Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and had a difficult time in Weatherfield after his father Tommy was killed by his sister Katy, with their mother Angela taking the blame and being sent to prison.

More recently, Fleeshman featured in the ITV wrestling comedy Deep Heat.

The series follows an amateur wrestler Holly (played by Jahannah James) and her brother Nitro (Fleeshman) as she tries to keep her family business alive.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
