Coronation Street confirms Toyah's big confession over Imran's death

Coronation Street has revealed more about Toyah Habeeb's upcoming confessions over the death of her husband Imran.

Next week's episodes see Toyah confide in Spider Nugent about what really happened on the day of the car crash in June.

Toyah has always dismissed any suspicions that she caused the crash deliberately to hurt Imran, although viewers know that they were arguing just before the incident.

In upcoming scenes, Abi Webster asks Toyah whether she'd like to have baby Alfie for a couple of hours ahead of her court trial.

Toyah agrees, but when she spends time alone with Alfie, she tells him that she's sorry for taking his father away.

Shortly afterwards, Toyah's sister Leanne overhears her opening up to Spider about the crash.

Toyah tells Spider that she crashed the car on purpose and intended to kill Imran.

Spider and Leanne are both shaken by Toyah's revelation, wondering what it means for the upcoming trial. Could Toyah end up sharing her guilt in court too?

Coronation Street's producer Iain MacLeod recently told Digital Spy and other media: "Toyah is on self-destruct by the time she gets up in the witness box. Toyah, whatever you may come to think about what happened in that car on the day where Imran died, fundamentally she's a good person. She certainly considers herself to have a good heart and has strong morals.

"When Toyah gets up in that courtroom, there's every possibility that she might just hit self-destruct in some kind of desire to atone for her sins. So there's quite a lot of danger in there."

MacLeod has also warned that Toyah could be making a big mistake by telling all to Spider, describing him as the last person she should be confiding in.
