Former Coronation Street star Richard Fleeshman seems a long way from the cobbles as a first look at new ITV comedy Deep Heat is unveiled.

The new series, which takes a look at the world of British wrestling, follows a wannabe wrestler (Body of Water's Jahannah James), who strives to keep a family business alive as she clashes with her cocky brother (Fleeshman).

The star is well known for playing Craig Harris on Corrie for four years until 2006, and has since appeared on the likes of Midsomer Murders and Call the Midwife, and has also been involved in music.

Deep Heat follows "quick-witted and rebellious" wannabe wrestler Holly (Jahannah James), who has "found herself facing the challenge of a lifetime" when BOSS Pro Wrestling's talent is poached by brother Nitro, which upsets her mother Pam (Bodyguard's Pippa Haywood).

"There's one hope: If Holly can bring together BOSS Pro's remaining gang of young rejects, the company might just survive," the synopsis continues. "Holly's hopes of making it to Slamageddon – BOSS Pro's big show – rest on a team anyone else would give up on."
