Coronation Street's Aadi and Kelly secretly plan to elope

Aadi Alahan and Kelly Neelan are making secret elopement plans in Coronation Street.

The couple have decided to get married for real, after initially pretending to be engaged to win a free holiday to Mexico.

Aadi popped the question to finish off last week when Kelly admitted she'd been thinking about how much she truly wanted to be his wife.

In Monday's (August 29) episode, the pair found out that they'd have to get permission from their guardians to get married for the Gazette competition because they are under 18.

Dev, Maria and Gary were not at all happy about the situation, as they felt Aadi and Kelly were definitely too young to be getting married.

This all led to a physical confrontation when Aadi grabbed his father Dev in anger after a snide comment about Kelly having a bad reputation in Weatherfield.

Dev fell and hit his head, but rather than come to his dad's aid, Aadi swore that he was leaving the family for good to be with Kelly. However, Dev finally backed down and agreed to give Kelly a chance.

Still Aadi announced that he and Kelly planned to move in together in a place of their own. Kelly came up with her own plan — they should secretly run off to Gretna Green to get married because the laws are different in Scotland.

"Why should we let anyone else tell us what we should do?" Kelly asked her future husband.

When Aadi agreed, Kelly beamed: "I love it when you say, 'I do'. We're gonna get married!"
