Here's where Corrie fans recognised Bistro psychic from

Coronation Street recently welcomed a psychic to the cobbles – and many viewers were quick to notice that they recognised her from another show.

Madame Sienna arrived as part of Debbie Webster's latest schemes, after Debbie found herself in a world of financial trouble following an accident at the hotel.

But many viewers spent Sienna's scenes trying to work out where they had seen the actress playing her, Janice Connolly, before – and fans of Peter Kay's comedies won't have taken long to work it out.

Connolly starred in Channel 4's Phoenix Nights as Holy Mary, and she returned in the same role in spin-off Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.

And this isn't her first Coronation Street appearance either as she's played two other characters, Dolly Gartside and Sheila Wheeler.

So, what led Debbie to hire a psychic in the first place? The trouble began for her when Ed Bailey arrived to do some work at the hotel and received a nasty electric shock, following some corner cutting done on the general upkeep.

Debbie soon realised how much of a headache she was facing as a result of the mishap, and she's been trying to raise as much cash as possible to claw her way out of the financial hole she's staring down.

One of those money-making schemes was to hold an event at the Bistro that featured a psychic, despite some reservations from some that Debbie swiftly ignored.

Debbie was a little nervous when Sienna arrived, realising that Sienna looked nothing like she did on her posters.

And Sienna soon caused quite a stir by bringing up the recently-deceased Imran to Toyah and Leanne, prompting Leanne to call her out and assume that she was just using information she had read in the local paper.
