Coronation Street spoilers follow.

A very familiar set will make a comeback in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as Audrey Roberts' family plan a big birthday surprise.

When Gail mentions that she has reserved a table for a family dinner to celebrate Audrey's birthday, David reveals that he has also planned a nice surprise for his gran.

But after recent family tensions, including a feud over Audrey's will, Audrey says that a meal with the family is the last thing she wants and asserts she won't be attending.

The famous salon hasn't appeared in the ITV soap for a while because, as loyal viewers will recall, Audrey sold the building to Ray Crosby in 2020 and he later signed it over to Debbie. That means this is the first time we'll be seeing the somewhat 'forgotten set' in over two years.

As for what else we can expect from the Cobbles stalwart soon, Audrey's issues with alcohol worsened last month and, speaking about the future of her character, actress Sue Nicholls teased that Audrey's struggle is far from over.

"She is going to continue to struggle, she has always worked and it was a big part of her life and she misses seeing different people and being out and about," she shared.

"Now the family are fighting over her will which gives her a real sense of her own mortality and that is not a nice thing to have to think about. Stephen is there supporting her but he has other things happening his life and she doesn't want to keep him from his businesses.

"There is a lot more to come in this storyline and I really hope it will resonate and make people have a chat about their own circumstances."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
