Audrey's drinking problem continues to worsen in Coronation Street next week – but could the arrival of her son Stephen be the moment that pushes her to kick the habit for good?
When the week begins, Shona has agreed to keep an eye on Audrey for Gail – on the condition that Gail's supposedly cursed brass elephant ornament is nowhere near her.
But Audrey soon vanishes, and Rita eventually finds her with a drink in her hand in The Rovers, encouraging her to put it down and get back to work in the salon.

But Audrey's in no mood to sober up, and despite telling David that she is indeed returning to work, she opens a bottle of wine and begins to awkwardly flirt with Ryan.

Things then get even worse when she later trips over the elephant ornament, and David is mortified at the state she's in.
Audrey's family is dismayed when she continues to drink, and seemingly doesn't care what anybody thinks of her.
After Maria, Gail is next to try and talk some sense into Audrey. But that conversation does not go well either, with Audrey furious at Gail for raising the subject of her drinking – in fact, she's so angry that she announces plans to move back home immediately.

But Audrey is about to get a big wake-up call when she has an accident at The Salon that leaves her alone, and in a bad way, on the floor overnight.
She staggers into a motorbike, which falls and knocks her over, and is left calling for help – but there is no answer.
As Audrey remains there the next morning, her son Stephen Reid returns to the cobbles, just in time to hear that his mum is in trouble – kicking down the door to get inside.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family are having an emergency meeting and have decided to seek advice from Peter on how to address Audrey's drinking.
While Audrey is rushed to the hospital, Stephen goes to see the rest of the family and he's horrified that none of them realised that she was even missing.
Will Audrey be OK – and if she is, will Stephen be able to help her manage her drinking?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
