Seemingly satisfied, Peter leaves but Abi is horrified when she realises her morphine has gone.

Furious, Abi confronts him in the Rovers backyard but her behaviour only confirms Peter's suspicions.

Worried, Peter calls in at Number 11 and tells Abi that she needs to get some help immediately.

With Peter becoming increasingly preoccupied with Abi, it's not long before his actions arouse the suspicions of Carla, especially after he lies about where he is going.

In reality, Peter is sneaking off to meet Abi again, but his fibs eventually catch up with him when Carla realises what's going on.

Concerned after discovering the truth, Carla warns Peter to be careful when supporting Abi through her addiction given their shared history.

Carla points out that it wasn't long ago that Abi had feelings for Peter, meaning he may not be the best person to help her after all. Will Peter listen?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, August 24 and Wednesday, August 26 at 7.30pm on ITV.
