Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby sparks more concern next week after bringing her young son Oliver home.

Leanne (Jane Danson) is currently at the centre of an emotional storyline, which has seen doctors reveal that Oliver may have mitochondrial disease.

Mitochondrial disease is a genetic condition which is progressive and currently has no cure.

Upcoming scenes see Leanne appear to go into denial over the situation that's facing her son.

When the doctors explain that Oliver may have brain damage, Leanne refuses to believe it – much to the concern of her partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Oliver's dad Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

The trio are ultimately told that Oliver will be allowed to return back home to the cobbles, as his test results won't be back for a few weeks.

Leanne is thrilled as she continues to see apparent signs of improvement in Oliver, but Nick and Steve struggle to mask their concern that she's not facing reality.
