Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street's producer Iain MacLeod has revealed plans to delve deeper into Geoff Metcalfe's past.
Geoff is currently at the centre of the ITV soap's biggest storyline, which has seen the evil villain subject his wife Yasmeen to months of abuse.
The show has already offered hints that Geoff has a history of coercive behaviour in relationships, which will now be explored further as Yasmeen's loved ones try to expose his true colours.

In a press Q&A this week, Digital Spy asked MacLeod whether Corrie has plans to reveal more details of Geoff's relationship with Tim's mother.
What to Read Next
"Yes, we will. When we considered the Geoff story, we thought it would be highly unlikely that this is the first time Geoff had exhibited these behaviours in a relationship," MacLeod replied.
"What we have discovered from our research is that perpetrators often have a cyclical pattern of behaviour. They will meet somebody, love-bomb them, be the consummate gentleman, lure them in with grand romantic gestures and presents – appearing ultra-supportive, funny and charming.
"That will gradually give way over a period of time into the controlling behaviour we've seen from Geoff towards Yasmeen. But when that relationship breaks down, they will move onto somebody else and resume the same patterns of behaviour.
"It felt right that we would look at Geoff's past relationships in some detail and discover that he's done this before, as that tends to be the case in real life."

He added: "There'll be a lot of interesting exploration into Geoff's backstory, which will obviously lead to a lot of interesting exploration of Tim's backstory too.
"Tim is very well-loved by the audience, so it's a good opportunity for us to find out more about him and why he's become the man that he is. We'll discover a bit more about his family background.
"There's a lot of family saga stuff to come, as a result of the things that Alya, the police and everybody else starts to discover about Geoff's past."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
