Ian Bartholomew, who plays Geoff Metcalfe on Coronation Street, has revealed how production shutdown is affecting the show's storylines.
The ITV soap packed away its cameras and paused filming last month – but the longer lockdown and social distancing measures continue, the more difficult it becomes for screenwriters and bosses to get a structure together for future episodes.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain via Skype today (April 29), Ian said: "I think in the forefront of everybody's mind at the moment, is what happens after this is all over. What happens after lockdown? What happens when we get back to it? Because it will change.
"It will change the map of how we work and how we make the programme, because we'll have to have social distancing. We'll have to have smaller crews. And that's the headaches that the writers and the producers and storyliners have at the moment.
"They're working furiously to try and pull the storylines that they got back into some sort of shape that we'll be able to tell in a different way."

Ian also admitted that Corrie's cast and crew "miss each other" and that it's been "very strange" sitting at home after working "absolutely flat out" on the show.
Ian's character Geoff is at the centre of a long-running coercive control storyline. In recent months, Geoff has sought to undermine and manipulate his wife Yasmeen (Shelley King) in a number of horrific ways – from berating and mocking her to tricking her into eating her beloved pet chicken.
However, Yasmeen recently made a defiant stand against Geoff, and Sair Khan, who plays Yasmeen's granddaughter Alya, hinted that they will find a surprise ally as they try to expose what Geoff is really like.
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
