Geoff Metcalfe took his controlling behaviour into darker territory during tonight's (February 28) episode of Coronation Street.
Furious with his wife Yasmeen Nazir after she didn't cook any meat for their tea, he threw away the food and decided to punish her in the most personal and cruel way he could think of.
As fans of the soap will know, Yasmeen tends to an elderly chicken named Charlotte Bronte, but Geoff's coercive control seemed to know no boundaries with his latest shocking move.

Sending Yasmeen upstairs while he prepared a substitute meal, her sadistic husband went out into the garden and slaughtered poor Charlotte (offscreen, fortunately) before serving up her carcass on a plate.

It took Yasmeen a few moments to realise what he'd done, and when Geoff arrogantly toasted a glass of wine to the chicken's sacrifice, she spat out her food and ran off crying.
Dark or what?
Over on Twitter, viewers were left horrified by Geoff's behaviour, but be warned because there's some strong language below.
"Geoff is the ultimate nasty bastard #coronationstreet," one fan tweeted.
"Geoff literally makes me so angry #coronationstreet," another said.
