Coronation Street has revealed the next plot twist in Asha Alahan's devastating new storyline.

The teenager will be at the centre of a new storyline that begins tonight (April 13) when her love interest Corey asks her to strip for him while on a video call.

However, images of her from the video call will end up being shared from Corey's phone, and she feels not only betrayed, but also like her life is over.

Dev will then find out about the video and and blame her, before deciding to report the incident to the police. We are sure that Asha won't be comfortable with more people knowing, but hopefully the authorities will be able to help.

Filming on the soap has halted due to the current worldwide situation, but the show's bosses have assured fans that many of the storyline plans will still carry on.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Coronation Street has announced a brand new casting – someone who should be familiar to ITV viewers.

Tony Maudsley – who played Kenneth du Beke in comedy series Benidorm – is joining the soap, and his character will have a strong connection to a former resident of the cobbles.

The casting was first reported in The Sun, while Maudsley tweeted the news and added: "Yes I can indeed confirm this to be true. I'm chuffed to be staying at my @itv home and heading to Weatherfield and I for one, couldn't be happier.

Coronation Street launches this story tonight (Monday, April 13) at 7.30pm on ITV.
