Coronation Street's Gary Windass made a shock confession to Ali Neeson tonight (March 11), ahead of the latter's exit later this week.

After the drama of being hospitalised in Monday's episodes, Ali is convinced that Gary (or someone working for him) spiked his drink with the diazepam that was found in his system. He spent the first episode running around telling anyone who would listen that he didn't take it on purpose.

Unfortunately, Ryan Connor, Toyah Battersby and Dr Gaddas all didn't believe him, with the latter suspending him from his job effective immediately.

An enraged Ali then scared Maria by locking her in his car and driving around erratically before letting her out, and she went straight to Gary to tell him what happened.

Gary then confronted Ali in the street and, as well as telling the latter to stay away from Maria, he actually admitted to spiking his drink (well, he got someone to do it for him). Gary said it was deserved after Ali slept with Maria, which led Ali to punch his enemy to the ground.
