Coronation Street viewers will see Weatherfield's most acerbic resident Evelyn Plummer feeling butterflies next week when she meets up with an old flame.
It all begins when Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) take a poorly Cerberus to the vets. Upon paying the bill, Evelyn is then surprised to see her old fame Arthur (played by Downton Abbey's Paul Copley) entering the surgery with his dog.
Tyrone watches on in amusement, and he later updates Fiz about the situation too, revealing that Evelyn clearly still has feelings for Arthur.

The storyline promises to feature a side of Evelyn that fans aren't used to, as later on, she's seen loitering in Victoria Garden with Cerberus in the hope of bumping into Arthur again.
She's over the moon when Arthur turns up and flirts with her, and the pair reminisce about their relationship, noting that, under different circumstances, they'd have probably got hitched. Evelyn later makes plans to meet Arthur at The Rovers.
The next day, Evelyn reserves a booth at the pub, while Claudia offers to do her hair and make-up before the big date.
However, when Evelyn looks at herself in the mirror, she's horrified to see that she looks exactly like Claudia.

After scraping off most of the make-up, Evelyn heads to the pub and awaits Arthur's arrival. But will Arthur show up, and will Evelyn and Arthur's feelings for each other return if he does?
