Geoff Metcalfe's reign as Weatherfield's most manipulative sod will continue in Coronation Street next week, as he tells a shocking lie about wife Yasmeen Nazir.
The pair's coercive control storyline has been under way for some time now, but after someone else uncovers Geoff's venomous behaviour towards Yasmeen, he's backed into a corner and does all he can to maintain his reputation.
Corrie's official website has teased that Cathy will catch Geoff unleashing another tirade of abuse at Yasmeen after he accidentally falls and hits his face on a table during a row.
Later, Brian confronts Geoff in the Rovers and expresses his concern for Yasmeen.
However, Geoff has a trick up his sleeve, and declares that his wife is a functioning alcoholic and his behaviour is just his way of helping her overcome her demons.
