The Bailey family have been a welcome addition to Coronation Street, and it looks like we will learn about more about family matriarch Aggie in the upcoming weeks.

During the chaos of Christmas Day, Aggie tried to help Robert Preston after he got shot by Derek, having been a former nurse. But unfortunately, she was unable to save him.

However, her actions will inspire her son James to recommend her for an award for her bravery, which will lead to a reporter for the Weatherfield Gazette popping over in scenes that will air the week after next.

The reporter will find that Aggie is reluctant to talk about her time as a nurse and why she stopped, but eventually she will open up and reveal her story to Roy: a patient once died under her watch and, while it wasn't her fault, her confidence in her abilities was shaken to the point where she stepped away.

Later on, Aggie will tell David not to lose hope for Shona, and that the doctors are doing everything they can do to help her out.

Will Aggie ultimately decide to return to nursing after opening up about her past? This is just guessing on our part, but we would very much like to see it happen.

Coronation Street will air these scenes on Wednesday, January 8 and Friday, January 10 on ITV.
