Coronation Street's Ali Neeson takes a positive step next week by confiding in Toyah Battersby about his addiction issues.
Ali (James Burrows) has spiralled out of control in recent weeks after getting hooked on diazepam, which led to the breakdown of his relationship with Maria Connor.
Toyah (Georgia Taylor) has already offered to support Ali if he needs her – and he finally takes her up on it next week.
When the pair cross paths at the Bistro, Ali explains that he's determined to take control of his addiction by getting himself off the pills.

Drawing on her counselling background, Toyah gives Ali some advice and promises that he can call her anytime if he's struggling.

Coronation Street bosses have recently confirmed that Maria will be moving on from Ali by embarking on a new relationship with villainous Gary Windass (Mikey North) in the coming weeks.
Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria, said last week: "I think it has trouble written all over it because Gary is a bad lad.
"Maria doesn't know that though and thinks that they have a lot in common, both being single parents of boys of a similar age.
"They start with a nice friendship and there's a natural progression into a relationship, but Maria definitely doesn't know what she's getting herself into."
Coronation Street returns on Wednesday, October 16 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
