Coronation Street has revealed that Ali Neeson will suffer a shock collapse next week.
The troubled doctor's health will take a turn for the worse at home after on-screen hints that he's struggling with a painkiller addiction.
We recently revealed that Ali will secretly take diazepam after risking his life to save Hope Stape from a fire in tonight's episodes (September 2).
Ali (James Burrows) takes the pills in secret and for no apparent reason, which hints that he may have become reliant on them without anybody realising.

New spoilers released on Coronation Street's official website have confirmed that Ali's secretive behaviour will continue next week, as he pays a visit to Dr Gaddas at the medical centre.

Coronation Street fans previously saw Ali steal prescription drugs from the medical centre late last year, when he was struggling with his guilt after killing gangster Ronan Truman to protect his family.
More recently, Mikey North – who plays Gary Windass – has hinted that Michelle's son will have bigger material in the coming weeks.
Mikey told Inside Soap: "James Burrows has a big storyline coming up that I'm looking forward to seeing. I think he's going to smash it."
