Coronation Street and Emmerdale will both face scheduling disruption next month.

Both soaps have been removed from their usual slots on Friday, October 11 as they make way for football coverage.

ITV has confirmed that it will be broadcasting live coverage of England's UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against Czech Republic from 7pm that evening, leaving no room for Emmerdale or Corrie.

This also has a knock-on effect for EastEnders, which will be airing back in its usual 8pm Friday slot as a result. The BBC soap has recently shifted several Friday episodes to 8.30pm to avoid clashes with hour-long editions of Coronation Street.

Emmerdale fans will still enjoy six episodes' worth of soapy drama that week, as its airing on Tuesday, October 8 has been extended to an hour-long special. This ensures we're not losing out on any action from the Dales.

The extended edition of Emmerdale will go head-to-head with EastEnders for 30 minutes, as the BBC soap will be keeping its usual 7.30pm Tuesday slot that night.

Coronation Street will only broadcast four episodes in the week in question. As schedules beyond October 11 have yet to be confirmed, fans will have to wait to find out whether we'll get more episodes in a future week to make up for it.
