Coronation Street businessman Nick Tilsley takes a major risk next week by making a bogus "confession" to the police.
Nick (Ben Price) resorts to drastic measures as he continues to panic about the Underworld business accounts being examined by detectives.
As we revealed recently, upcoming episodes see Nick worry when the police insist on seeing the factory's finances as part of their investigation into the roof collapse.
Nick previously used the accounts to store £30,000 of the money he stole from his gran Audrey Roberts, meaning that there's a discrepancy which could be spotted, linking him to the theft.
Next week's episodes see Nick's anxiety increase when he hears rumours that the police are now treating the factory roof collapse as an insurance scam.
Sensing how serious the investigation is about to turn, Nick decides to get in there first and "explain" the mystery of the £30k before he's pulled up on it.
What to Read Next
Talking to the police, Nick alerts them to the discrepancy and claims that the money came from his own savings.
Nick "explains" that he was trying to hide the money from his ex-wife, as they were going through a divorce battle. But with Audrey's troubles still fresh in the memory, will the police believe Nick is telling the truth?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, April 17 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
