Coronation Street kicks off a new David Platt storyline tonight (April 5), as a new admirer begins to get close to him.
A preview clip for Friday's episodes show Natalie Watkins (Cassie Bradley) blackmailing her way into securing a one-week trial at the new barber shop, meaning she will be working in close proximity with David (Jack P Shepherd).
"I've waited long enough. Why don't you just give [me] the job?" she says.
"If it were up to me [I would], but it's not," David replies. "Nick's going to have to agree as well."
"And why would he?" Natalie says. "His missus isn't moaning that she never sees him. He doesn't go home knackered every night. You need another pair of hands and they're right here... You really are the monkey in this setup."
David gives in and offers Natalie a week-long trial.

"You won't regret it," she says as she gives him a hug and a kiss.
Cassie recently suggested that there will be "fireworks" between Natalie and Shona Ramsey.
"They're both rough diamonds. They both have a similar background where they've had to fight for a lot. It will be interesting to watch them sparring with each other. There's going to be fireworks and that's exciting to play," she said.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
