Coronation Street's Daniel Osbourne keeps his wife Sinead Tinker in the dark next week after receiving some worrying news about their baby son.
Sinead (Katie McGlynn) gives birth earlier than planned in a dramatic double bill next Monday, after receiving the news that her cancer has spread and she needs to start radiotherapy urgently.
There's relief all round when Daniel and Sinead's baby boy is delivered safely and they decide to name him Bertie. However, a doctor later reveals that he'll need to examine the newborn, sparking new fears for his health.
Daniel later hears the news that his son has a bowel condition, but decides to keep this from Sinead when she asks how he's doing.
Daniel thinks he's doing the right thing as he doesn't want to upset Sinead when she has so much else to worry about right now, but his sister Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) may have other ideas.
When Tracy finds out from Beth that Daniel is keeping the news on Bertie's health from Sinead, she vows to put things right – but could her interference cause trouble?

Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel, revealed: "Daniel thinks it is far too soon for the baby to be delivered. So much has just been revealed, for example Sinead not attending chemo, that this is too much new information to take.
"When he hears about the bowel condition, it's confirmation of his fears that Bertie might not be developed enough to survive. Daniel is faced with the prospect of losing his family within the space of a short time.
"Knowing that there's nothing Sinead can do and that she needs to focus on getting better herself, Daniel sees it as logical to hide this from her. It doesn't occur to him that he has lied to her, like she was lying to him."
Asked how Daniel will react if someone else tells Sinead the truth first, Rob replied: "Moments like that are a loss of control, so Daniel would be quite angry with whoever did it."
