Casualty spoilers follow.

Casualty star Amanda Henderson has opened up about her time on the medical drama, revealing that she thought she'd be "sacked" on her first day in the role.

In an interview with TV Times to celebrate her 10-year milestone playing nurse Robyn Miller, Henderson reflected on her first day on the Casualty set, and how the use of medical language on the show was initially daunting to her.

"My first day of filming was with Suzanne Parker. We walked up and looked through the window at the busy ED," she recalled.

"I could hear Sunetra [Sarker] do all this medical speak and I remember thinking, 'I'm never going to be able to do this. I'm going to be sacked on my first day."

A decade later, it's now Amanda reassuring any newer cast members who feel daunted.

"I love watching new people's faces when it happens to them," she added.

"Every single person has that moment. I tell them, 'I promise you'll be fine. In about four weeks you'll know everything."

During her 10 years on Casualty, her character Robyn has dealt with her fair share of dramatic storylines.

In the past couple of weeks, viewers have seen Robyn continue to battle a number of health issues, shortly after she agreed to be Adi Kapadia and Marty Kirkby's surrogate.

Things have become worse for Robyn in recent episodes, as she became seriously unwell and collapsed while on the way to her daughter's school play.

Robyn will soon have to face a difficult decision about whether to continue the surrogacy after learning about her health issues, as well as the impact the news will have on her relationship with Adi and Marty.
