Emma Stone's science-fiction remake Bugonia has just landed on UK streaming, and it's well worth checking out if you like the actor, director Yorgos Lanthimos, or the actor's collaborations with director Yorgos Lanthimos.
A remake of the South Korean film Save the Green Planet!, Bugonia stars Stone as the head of a big corporation whom two men kidnap because they believe she's an alien with plans to take over and destroy the world.
Can she barter her way out, or are the men too deep into their conspiracy theory? And is it even just a theory?
Who stars in Bugonia?
- Emma Stone (Easy A, La La Land, The Favourite, The Amazing Spider-Man) as Michelle Fuller
- Jesse Plemons (Game Night, The Power of the Dog, Killers of the Flower Moon) as Teddy Gatz
- Aidan Delbis (his feature film debut) as Don
- Stavros Halkias (Tires) as Sheriff Casey Boyd
- Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, Batman & Robin, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) as Sandy Gatz
What did the critics say about Bugonia?

"Bugonia isn't merely dark; it's a black hole," wrote The Wall Street Journal.
"But Mr. Lanthimos's vision is sternly compelling, and Bugonia is that exceptional movie that's extremely hard to forget."
What to Read Next

The Independent called Bugonia "one of the best films in recent memory to capture what it feels like to be alive right now," calling it "funny and deeply topical".
