Over Your Dead Body, the twisty new horror-thriller starring Jason Segel and Samara Weaving, has steadily climbed Prime Video's trending chart following its release earlier this week.
The film, an English-language remake of 2021 Norwegian action comedy The Trip, sees the pair portray Dan and Lisa Burton, a couple in an unhappy marriage as their respective careers fail to take off.
The miserable duo head off to a cabin, but are shocked to discover that they each harboured plans to kill the other party. They must soon join forces, however, when some other arrivals threaten their plans.

Directed by Jorma Taccone from a screenplay by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, Over Your Dead Body was released on Prime Video on Wednesday (10 June), and it looks to have been a hit with viewers already.
At the time of writing, the horror-thriller is the third most-watched film in the UK on the streamer, with only Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Jack Ryan: Ghost War performing better. In terms of the worldwide chart, Over Your Dead Body is at #2 (via FlixPatrol).

The film has also been generally praised by critics, with Rotten Tomatoes currently reporting a solid approval rating of 69% from 91 reviews. In the site's critical consensus, it noted the "inventive gore and electric performances".
"The pairing of Ready or Not's Weaving with Shrinking star Segel sparks huge laughs with both actors going all out during the outrageous ouch-inducing fights they have with each other and three unexpected cabin guests," noted San Jose Mercury News.
TheWrap was also full of praise, writing: "Taccone and his team have managed to take the existential and interior strife common in a marriage and transfigure it into a riotous and convivial physical battle for survival and sanity."

"While not entirely flawless in its execution, Taccone's Over Your Dead Body is a thrilling and hilarious horror movie that delivers plenty of plot twists and gruesome wounds," wrote Little White Lies.
The film was also liked by viewers on IMDb, where it currently has a user rating of 6.3/10 from 11,000 logs. In one 10/10 review, one reviewer called it "freaking phenomenal" and opined that it was "better than the original".
