If you've already binged Off Campus and Every Year After, we've got news on your next obsession on Prime Video. The streamer has finally confirmed the release date for The Love Hypothesis, and treated us to first-look images from the upcoming rom-com.
Based on the hit novel of the same name by Ali Hazelwood, The Love Hypothesis follows biology PhD candidate Olive Smith (Lili Reinhart) who, when her best friend falls for her crush, enters into a fake relationship with hotshot professor Dr Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman) to prove she's moved on. Unsurprisingly, real sparks begin to fly.
The movie is directed by Claire Scanlon, who also directed excellent Netflix rom-com Set It Up, while it was adapted for the screen by Sarah Rothschild. It also stars Rachel Marsh, Jaboukie Young-White, Nicholas Duvernay and Arty Froushan.
The Love Hypothesis will land on Prime Video on Wednesday 23 September and while you wait for that, check out the first-look images below.

If this is the first you're hearing of The Love Hypothesis, you won't know the unexpected Star Wars link behind it. The book was originally released online as Head Over Feet and was fanfiction focused on Star Wars characters Rey and Kylo Ren. Rey was, of course, played by Daisy Ridley and her husband Tom Bateman is now in the movie that's based on the Star Wars fanfiction about his wife.

The first-look images reveal the movie's take on the couple's first kiss, which was also the book cover.
Talking to Cosmopolitan, Reinhart said filming that scene came with "a lot of pressure".
"We shot a few different angles of it to find the right one. We had fun doing that scene and it was actually sort of an ice-breaker for us as actors as well; it was our first kissing scene of the movie," she reflected.

Bateman added: "What I love about the first kiss and, in fact, the entire romantic relationship between Adam and Olive is that it’s unexpected and messy. It’s funny and surprising.
"That's what life is, really. That first kiss is a moment that those who love the book will be looking forward to and figuring that moment out and bringing it to life with Lili was exciting."
The Love Hypothesis will be released on Prime Video on 23 September.
