Bambi-themed horror movie Bambi: The Reckoning has found itself a new streaming home in the UK. One of those horror films based on a public domain property that people mostly associate with Disney, the film is part of the Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU), also referred to as the Poohniverse, a creation of Jagged Edge Productions.

The Universe currently includes Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, with more on the way.

After a cinematic release in July, Bambi: The Reckoning is now available to stream on Prime Video. Just in time for Christmas!

If you're not signed up to Amazon's streaming service, you might want to check if you're eligible for a free trial.

Otherwise the video-only subscription is £5.99 a month, or the full Prime subscription with free delivery and other inclusions is £8.99 a month or £95 for a year.

What to Read Next

While that first Pooh movie was seen as a major disappointment that had nothing going for it beyond its premise of 'Winnie the Pooh but a killer', this horror take on Bambi has actually had a decent reception.

Dread Central called the film, which stars Hollyoaks and Game of Thrones' Roxanne McKee and Love Island's Samira Mighty, a "terrifying tale" with "gnarly kills and [a] stellar cast", giving it four out of five stars.

InSession Film wrote: "It's B-horror as B-horror should be: bloody, cruel, unflinching, and not concerned with the dramatics."

Bloody Disgusting even dubbed it "the best movie, at least so far, in the Twisted Childhood Universe. Maybe even the whole genre of public domain horror".

It's a sentiment echoed by fans on Reddit, with one calling The Reckoning "my favorite of these movies so far" and another admitting that they were "very surprised that it was actually good lol".

"That shit was what solidified this as my favorite cinematic universe of all time," wrote another. "Solid 8/10."

Bambi: The Reckoning can be streamed now on Prime Video.
