Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has released a new set of images, giving fans a first look at Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar in the "unhinged" and "very surprising" horror sequel. A follow up to 2019's Ready or Not, the sequel is directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who also served as directors on the first instalment.

Reprising her role from the first film, Samara Weaving stars as Grace, with the sequel picking up after the events of Grace's bloody wedding night.

Joining Weaving and Gellar on the cast are Kathryn Newton, Elijah Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and horror legend David Cronenberg.

Fans have now been given a first look at the stars of the film, including some of Gellar donning a black suit.

In one of the images, Gellar and the cast can be seen standing around, looking down on Weaving and Newton who are tied to chairs.

Another of the images shows Gellar standing beside Cronenberg, who is in a hospital bed surrounded by machines.

Opening up about the new cast, Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin told People: "We can’t say enough about how much we love the ensemble in this movie. We think everyone brought something genuinely special to their roles, and we’re so thrilled with how scary, funny and bizarre this cast of characters are."

On what it was like to return to the film with Weaving as Grace, the directors said the experience was "much more emotional than we expected".

"The original movie really changed our lives in countless ways," they added. "And to see Samara back in that character and back in that dress felt really special to us."

Meanwhile, Weaver said: "I was a bit nervous and not sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited.

"The entire character came flooding back. We were all quite emotional in that fitting, actually. Revisiting the character is one thing but working with that crew again was the best part."

On what to expect from the sequel, Weaving called it "so unhinged, absolutely cooked — you’re gonna love it."

"Those sicko writers came up with a way in that's somehow both a natural progression and very surprising," she added.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is scheduled to be released on 10 April 2026.
