Macaulay Culkin has shared his "elevator pitch" for a Home Alone sequel. With Christmas just around the corner, the actor, who played Kevin McCallister in Home Alone (1990) and its equally iconic sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), said he "wouldn't be completely allergic" to the idea of reprising his role.

"It would have to be just right," Culkin said while on tour (via Variety). "I kind of had this idea.

"I'm either a widower or a divorcee. I'm raising a kid and all that stuff. I'm working really hard and I'm not really paying enough attention and the kid is kind of getting miffed at me and then I get locked out. [Kevin's son] won't let me in… and he's the one setting traps for me."

Noting that "the house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship", Culkin explained that the film would focus on Kevin's attempt to "'get let back into son's heart".

"That's the closest elevator pitch that I have. I'm not completely allergic to it, the right thing," the A-lister clarified.

Widely regarded as one of the best Christmas films of all time, Culkin's fiancée, Brenda Song, is also a fan of the franchise, although the Suite Life of Zack & Cody star clarified that it's "hard" to watch Home Alone nowadays.

While appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Song recalled how she once "forced" Culkin to watch the movie with her. "When we started dating almost eight years ago now, Christmas-time came around and I was like, 'It's a tradition! I always watch Home Alone every Christmas,'" she said.

"He hadn't seen the movie in like a decade, and I forced him — he didn't wanna watch it. I was like 'We have to,'" Song continued. "We started watching it, and he started telling me all the behind-the-scenes stories, and I was like 'Stop! Stop! You're ruining it for me! You're ruining it!'"

"It's just, it's hard for me now, that's all," Song said of watching the original movie.

Home Alone is currently available to stream on Disney+.
