Brenda Song has shared how Macaulay Culkin "ruined" Home Alone for her when they watched it together.

The iconic '90s movie (and its sequel) starred Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a young boy who is forced to defend his house from robbers after his family accidentally leave him behind on their holiday.

Set at Christmas, Home Alone has become a festive tradition in most households, with families gathering each year to watch the hilarious hijinks, including Culkin's now fiancée Song. However, the actor himself apparently did not share Song's enthusiasm for his work.

Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Song recalled how she "forced" a reluctant Culkin to watch the movie with her - and why it's now "hard" for her to enjoy.

"When we started dating almost eight years ago now, Christmas-time came around and I was like, 'It's a tradition! I always watch Home Alone every Christmas,'" she said.

After sitting down together, Culkin began reminiscing about the production of the movie and shared all the insider knowledge with his partner.

"We started watching it, and he started telling me all the behind-the-scenes stories," Song recalled. "And I was like 'Stop! Stop! You're ruining it for me! You're ruining it!'"

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star went on to explain that she doesn't have the same affection for Home Alone anymore, but understands why it "holds such a special place in so many people's hearts." She added: "It's just, it's hard for me now, that's all."
