Leonardo DiCaprio is teaming up with director Martin Scorsese once again for long-awaited project The Devil in the White City.
The 40-year-old actor - who has been linked with the movie since 2010 - will take on the role of Dr HH Holmes, a serial killer who murdered hundreds of victims at his infamous World's Fair Hotel in Chicago.
Holmes used the 1893 Chicago World's Fair to slaughter his victims in the hotel - nicknamed his 'Murder Castle' - a structure containing a gas chamber, dissection table and a crematorium.
The news was confirmed after Paramount acquired the rights to Erik Larson's true crime book The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness At The Fair That Changed America.
Paramount outbid Universal and Fox to secure the rights to Larson's book in a competitive auction.
Screenwriter Billy Ray will also work on the project.
