Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse spoilers follow.

There's more bad news for Spider-Man fans as Beyond the Spider-Verse has received another disappointing update.

The upcoming threequel was originally scheduled set to hit our screens in March 2024, but was delayed indefinitely due to the writers' strikes.

Almost two years later, the movie received an official release date from Sony during a panel at CinemaCon. The studio confirmed that Beyond the Spider-Verse would be swinging into cinemas on 4 June 2027.

Despite the long wait, fans were relieved to finally be able to mark their calendars. However, in a disappointing turn of events, the animated movie has yet again been pushed back.

In the sequel, Miles (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), are introduced to a whole new Spider Society, made up of a variety of Spider-People from across the multiverse.

Miles becomes trapped on a different Earth (Earth-19529), where there is no Spider-Man to help prevent crime. He discovers his uncle Aaron has been terrorising the city, alongside The Prowler - who is revealed to be a parallel version of Miles.

Gwen assembles the rest of the Spider-People in a bid to save her friend. But will they be able to find Miles in time?

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released in cinemas on 25 June, 2027.
