Final Destination: Bloodlines has set an impressive new record for the popular horror franchise with its strong Rotten Tomatoes score.

The franchise's sixth instalment — the first in 14 years — sees death stalk a new set of victims as a college student tries to find a way to end the cycle and save her family.

Released in UK cinemas today, at the time of writing, the film has garnered a 93% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes from 59 reviews. It's now the highest-rated entry in the series by a significant margin.

The fifth film comes in at second place with 63%, while the other four films sit in Rotten territory.

Final Destination 2 places third with 52%, followed by Final Destination 3 at 44% and Final Destination at 40%. The fourth movie ranks the lowest, with a dismal score of 28%.
