Anora actor Mikey Madison has delved into the film's final scene, and where she believes her character's headspace is during it.
The Oscar-nominated film follows sex worker Ani who weds the son of a Russian oligarch. After that marriage falls to pieces for various reasons, Ani discovers a connection with bodyguard Igor. As the two are about to have sex, they share a kiss, and Ani breaks down in tears.

Speaking to Hits Radio, Madison explained that the moment was a "release" of everything that her character had been through, and that she believes what Ani has with Igor is "real", rather than just reactionary.
"So much has happened to Ani over the course of such a short period of time," she stated. "So many emotions have been building up inside of her, so much heartbreak, pain, anger and frustration. She hasn't allowed herself to release any of it.

"And so, I mean, through my mind I was really trying to stay focused and centered around what's going through her head, but I definitely put a lot of pressure on myself for that scene, because I just really wanted to do her justice, to be able to express herself in some kind of way.

"I think the film is ultimately a lot about unlikely connection and she is able to finally have a real connection and express herself in a way with Igor, just without words.
"And so I don't know, I was just trying to be in the headspace of the character."
