Peaky Blinders star Kate Phillips has confirmed that she won't appear in the upcoming movie.

The Netflix film, which is titled The Immortal Man, will follow the events of the hit TV show's season six finale and centre on the Shelby family during World War II.

Phillips, who played Arthur Shelby's wife Linda on the series, has now confirmed that she won't be making an appearance in the film despite previous "discussions" over her return.

"I'm not," she told Radio Times when asked if she'll be reprising her role as Linda. "There were discussions and then it didn't pan out."

The Miss Scarlet actor continued: "It was such an amazing show to be part of and Steven Knight still continues to have ideas for the life and the future of Peaky Blinders, and that's always lovely to kind of engage with his hopes and dreams for the show.

Returning cast members for the film include Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne, Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs and Ian Peck as Curly.

Newcomers include Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Jay Lycurgo, though all their roles are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Meanwhile, creator Steven Knight recently confirmed that the "world of Peaky will continue" after the movie.

"It's not over, let's just put it like that," he said. "I'm not allowed to announce it... but I'm just saying that the world of Peaky will continue."

The Immortal Man does not yet have a confirmed release date.
