Peaky Blinders has confirmed the return of two characters for the upcoming sequel series. The new show will move events forward to the 1950s, and has already confirmed a number of castings, including Stranger Things' Charlie Heaton as the new Charles Shelby and Half Man's Jamie Bell as the new Duke.

It has now been announced that Ned Dennehy will be back as Charlie Strong, while Packy Lee is returning as Johnny Dogs, having played the roles in the original series as well as the movie Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

Additionally, a few new castings have been unveiled, including Game of Thrones' Conleth Hill as Clemmy Keeler, the "fierce patriarch of the Keeler gangster family who rival the Peaky Blinders’ ambitions to rebuild Birmingham".

"Having fought a violent war, much of it behind enemy lines, Charles Shelby is now embracing normality," the synopsis adds.

"[Charles] hasn't seen his half-brother Duke in years. Charles severed all ties to the Peaky Blinders gang, and the hedonistic Shelby lifestyle. But can you ever escape your own blood?"

Creator Steven Knight previously said of the new show: "I am thrilled that we are announcing a new era of Peaky Blinders, moving the story to post-war Birmingham in the early '50s."

Peaky Blinders' new season will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, while The Immortal Man is on Netflix.
