Vincent D'Onofrio may be joining the cast of the Magnificent Seven remake.

According to Variety, the Jurassic World actor is in talks to play the villain in the retelling of the 1960 Western.


Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt have already been confirmed for roles in the new movie.

The Magnificent Seven tells the story of a woman, played by Haley Bennett in the remake, who hires seven gunfighters to protect her village from marauding bandits.

Directed by John Sturges, the 1960 MGM original starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson.

Antoine Fuqua is to direct and Roger Birnbaum is to produce the film that has been in the works since 2012.

D'Onofrio can next be seen in the upcoming Jurassic World and as the villain Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Netflix's Daredevil series, available to view on the service from April 10.
