The Raid director Gareth Evans has spoken about the influence Tony Scott had on the action genre.
Scott died on Sunday after jumping from a bridge in Los Angeles, prompting died on Sunday.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Evans said that Scott's films were definitive for the action genre, and had made a significant impact on him growing up.
"I'm a huge fan, and it's such a sad, sad loss," Evans said. "He defined action in the '80s and early '90s.
"Films like True Romance and The Last Boy Scout stuck with me since I saw them when I was young, on every different format. It's a big, big loss for cinema."
