Microsoft has surprised fans at gamescom with news that Halo Wars would be returning in 2016.
Halo Wars 2 is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 next year.
Most excitingly of all, the game is being developed by strategy specialists Creative Assembly, the team behind the Total War series.
Microsoft saved the announcement until the very end of its conference, showing fans a teaser trailer that was sadly short of gameplay footage.
During the same conference, Microsoft unveiled Crackdown 3, showed gameplay footage of Scalebound and revealed that Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen would appear in Quantum Break.
